And we’re back! + Updates on Site Traffic
I just got back home from a weekend trip to the mountains of North Carolina and Tennessee. I was gone from Thursday until a few hours ago yet I still managed to keep this blog alive throughout the weekend.
Here’s what I did:
1. Scheduled Posts
- I made sure to schedule some posts for Friday, Saturday and Sunday in order to keep my daily posting regiment consistent. If you’d like to know why this is important, check out Tip #2 - Scheduled Posts.
2. Link To Others
- This will be a listed as tip soon but I thought I’d go ahead and mention it now: be sure to link to other popular blogs! Often times good reviews, mentions and acknowledgements to other popular blogs can serve as great methods to getting some hits back. Anyways, stay tuned for a more thorough explanation on this tip this week.
3. Vacation Message
- Almost all e-mail providers allow you to set up vacation messages that notify people who e-mail you that you’re on vacation. This will eliminate any confusion site readers or other interested parties may have about your whereabouts and lack of communication. Again, another long writeup on this topic will follow this week.
Traffic Details
I started off just four days ago with an average of 10 or less unique visitors a day, down from the nearly 200 or so visitors that would regularly visit this site two years ago. After writing a series of articles and tips to make blogs successful, that number is now up to at least 35 unique visitors each of the past four days. I’ll include a screenshot of my analytics graph to give you a better idea - I want to make everything as transparent as possible:

While this number is not nearly significant enough to mean anything, it does show that posting regularly and linking to other popular blogs does work. Unfortunately the number of subscribers still has not increased. Please subscribe here to make that change. I promise I’ll make each post as relevant to making money online as possible!

Before I specifically checked out the “Why Subscribe” page, it seemed the only way to subscribe was through email. I’d suggest making an RSS only feed the default option instead of email if you want people to subscribe.

Sounds good, I’ll add the RSS only feed to the subscribe section. Thanks.
